Dr. Michael Selk

Dr Michael Selk joined Weiland Rechtsanwälte as a lawyer in 2019 and has been a partner since. Previously, he worked as a lawyer and notary with a law firm in Reinbek.
He can advise you on all matters pertaining to real property and tenancy law as well as building and architectural law. Dr Selk can defend you in criminal proceedings in all German courts. He has been working as a specialist lawyer in the following practice areas: tenancy and real property law since 2005, building and architectural law since 2007, and criminal law since 2009.
Dr Selk obtained his PhD on the subject of "Asylum Law and the Constitution" under Professor Schmidt-Jortzig's supervision. He studied law in Kiel. Dr Selk has been an examiner for the joint examination office of the states of Bremen, Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein in the Major State Examination in Law (Große Juristische Staatsprüfung) since 2000. He provides further training for the programmes of the following institutes: German Institute of Lawyers (Deutsches Anwaltsinstitut), Specialised Legal Seminars (Juristische Fachseminare) and the German Academy of Lawyers (Deutsche Anwaltsakademie) and was appointed judge at the Bar Court of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in 2022.
Dr Selk is an editor of NZM (Neue Zeitschrift für Miet- und Wohnungsrecht / New Journal of Tenancy and Housing Law), which is published by C.H.Beck. He publishes articles on tenancy law and is a book author.
